Crofton Readers Group keeps score

The Readers Group at Crofton have voted on their all time favourite top 20 books. The full list (with scores) is on the Readers Group page but their top three are- at number three, Harper Lee ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, at number two Mary Ann Shaffer’s ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’ and the winner…Khaled Hosseini’s ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’Suns

A great choice but I’d put Jane Eyre and To Kill a Mockingbird at the head of the list. What would top your all time favourite read list?

  1. The winning book is the most emotive and well written book I have read in a long time. ‘The Kite Runner’, Khalid’s previous book, was good but this one excelled. Just need to know when the next book is due!

  2. The good news is that his next novel is due out 21/5/13 and will be called And the Mountains Echoed. Something to look forward to and we’ll have copies in the libraries of course.

  3. What absolute bally rot! Everyone knows that the book that should be in the all time fave number one posish when it comes to spiffing great reads is ‘The Code of the Woosters’ by P.G.Wodehouse. Bertie. Jeeves. Aunt Dahlia. Gussie Fink-Nottle. Roderick Spode. And an antique silver cow creamer. ‘Nuff said. So, dash it, do yourself a enormous favour, ankle it round to your nearest library and beg or borrow a copy today; (best avoid the ‘steal’ – don’t want any trouble with the rozzers). What ho!

  4. Jolly Good Egg! this is indeed a spiffing read. Heil Spode!
