Reading about Richard

SunneFascinating news today that the body in the Leicester car park is that of Richard III. For a Richard related read try Sharon Kay Penman’s ‘The Sunne in Splendour’ or Rosemary Hawley Jarman ‘We speak no treason’. Also well worth a read is Josephine Tey’s novel about a bed-bound detective who decides to investigate if Richard is guilty of the murder of the Princes in the Tower ‘Daughter of Time’

  1. And if you’d prefer non fiction and are curious about the controversy surrounding the “Princes in the tower” mystery, I’d recommend Alison Weir’s well researched and fairly unbiased “Princes in the tower”.

  2. And don’t forget Philippa Gregory’s Cousin’s War series, especially The Kingmaker’s Daughter, about Richard’s wife Ann Neville, and yet another theory about who did for the princes.
