ESOL Class visit

Library staff work with local ESOL groups (that’s English for Speakers of Other Languages) encouraging them to develop their reading skills by taking the Six Book Challenge. Lynne Holroyd and Pat Richardson were delighted to welcome the WEA ESOL class from St Swithuns to Wakefield Library for the first time and gave them a tour of the services available. Tutor Jean Smethust said ‘Everyone enjoyed the visit greatly. The women found the cookery, needlework and children’s sections particularly interesting. All are now members of the Library, and feel able and confident to go to the Library again, and take their children there too.’ Read more about the visit at the WEA site
